1. Paint, paint, paint. Paint the walls, paint the trim, or paint the doors and ceilings: painting is one of the quickest way to transform the look of a room. It changes the entire feel of it if you switch up colors, or if you even just apply a fresh coat of even the same color it will make the room feel fresher, brighter, and cleaner.

2. Update your window coverings. Replace worn blinds or dated curtains with fresh window coverings that allow a lot of natural light into your home. New and clean window coverings add a lot to a room!

3. Refinish your cabinets. Refinishing or repainting your cabinets (kitchen AND bathroom) will breathe new life into your kitchen and help give dated cabinets a fresh look. Kitchen cabinets of all material types can be resurfaced, but make sure you do your homework to make sure which method will work best for your cabinets before you get to sanding and painting!

4. Install new drawer and cabinet hardware. Replace the old knobs and handles on drawers and cabinets to help bring your kitchen out of the last decade and into the current one. You’ll be amazed both at the different styles available and how drastic the change can be by just simply updating handles. It can seriously change an entire room.

5. Get rid of “popcorn” ceilings. Update your home quickly by removing textured, or popcorn, ceilings. It can be done easily and inexpensively, and adding a smoother touch will give the space a whole new depth.

6. De-clutter. If your house has accumulated a lot of clutter, start organizing! A clutter-free house has been proven to reduce stress and make you feel better - plus, it makes the house look bigger and cleaner!

7. Update your exterior. If the numbers on your house are old, crooked, or missing, buy fresh new ones at the hardware store. If your address is painted, repaint old or weathered numbers. Plant fresh flowers, weed, sweep up walkways, clean and organize. Your yard can be just as important as the inside of your house!
